James M. Girman | Founding Shareholder
James M. Girman is a founding shareholder. He concentrates his practice in civil litigation defense with emphasis on transportation litigation and retail and restaurant industry litigation. He has litigated cases in state and federal court representing individuals and businesses in cases involving commercial motor vehicles, premises liability, wrongful death, product liability, personal injury and breach of contract.
Mr. Girman is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association, Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, Defense Research Institute, and Allegheny County Academy of Trial Lawyers.
Mr. Girman graduated from Grove City College in 1981 with a B.S. in Political Science. He also earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1983 and received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 1990. Prior to beginning his law career in 1990, Mr. Girman worked as a Detective with the District Attorney of Allegheny County. From 1990-2010, Mr. Girman was a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C., a defense litigation firm.
