Deirdre Sullivan|Associate

Deirdre Sullivan is an Associate with Pion, Nerone, Girman & Smith, P.C.  Ms. Sullivan concentrates her practice in the areas of transportation law, catastrophic loss litigation, insurance defense, premises liability, and general civil litigation.  In addition to litigation matters, Ms. Sullivan routinely represents clients in response to accidents, investigations, citations, and administrative proceedings.  She has more than 25 years of litigation experience.

Ms. Sullivan is a former Executive Deputy Prosecutor with the York County District Attorney’s Office, where she specialized in the criminal prosecution of physical and sexual abuse of children, including child homicide cases.  There she handled every aspect of criminal investigation and prosecution, including death penalty homicide trials.  She achieved the first Strangulation conviction in York County.  She also investigated and prosecuted Medicaid Fraud and Abuse and patient neglect as a former Deputy Attorney General with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

Most recently, Ms. Sullivan served as the Solicitor of York County, Pennsylvania.  There she was and important part of the Executive Management Team.  She provided legal advice to County management, and represented the County’s interests in litigation.  She also represented the County on numerous boards and committees.

Ms. Sullivan has participated in the Pennsylvania Bar Association High School Mock Trial Competition as an attorney coach and jurist.  Ms. Sullivan served as a member of the Board which formed the York County Children’s Advocacy Center, established to reduce the trauma involved in child abuse investigations, foster collaboration, and promote education and advocacy.

Ms. Sullivan is admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  She is also a member of the Pennsylvania, and York County Bar Associations.

Ms. Sullivan earned her law degree from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, in 1999. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Penn State University in 1996.
