James DeCinti|Shareholder

James DeCinti is a shareholder of Pion, Nerone, Girman & Smith, P.C, and practices out of the Harrisburg office, where he has practiced for 30 years. Jim practices in the areas of transportation law, including Catastrophic Accident Rapid Response Investigations, insurance defense, motor vehicle accident litigation, premise liability, products liability, and personal injury law.

Mr. DeCinti has extensive settlement, litigation and trial experience in both state and federal courts. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Middle and Eastern Districts and the Court of Federal Claims.

Although based in Harrisburg, Jim practices in all counties in Pennsylvania and has extensive experience handling cases both big and small in Philadelphia County.  He has successfully handled hundreds of Philadelphia County Compulsory Arbitrations matters.  He also regularly finds himself in Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties litigating transportation and other matters.

Jim is a proud 1983 graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre PA.  He attended Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, and graduated from Wilkes University in 1987 with a B.A. in Communications. With a face for radio, he decided to go to law school and attended the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law and then graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1995.  He was previously an adjunct professor at Central Pennsylvania College in Summerdale, Pennsylvania.

Jim is a member of the Cumberland County Bar Association and numerous transportation related trade and legal organizations.  Jim maintains a BV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. This rating exemplifies distinguished reviews in both ethical standards and professional abilities from both the bench and bar.

Jim is originally from Wilkes-Barre, PA, and still maintains many professional and personal ties to Northeast PA (NEPA).  He has lived in East Pennsboro Township in Cumberland County for over 25 years.  Jim resides there with his wife of 36 years, Kimberly.  He has two grown sons who are proud graduates of The Pennsylvania State University.
