Joshua S. Klingensmith|Associate

Joshua S. Klingensmith is an Associate at Pion, Nerone, Girman & Smith, P.C. Prior to joining Pion Law, Joshua practiced criminal defense as a public defender in Washington, D.C. He took several serious felony cases to trial as lead counsel. Joshua has extensive courtroom experience.

Joshua graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2024. At Pitt Law, he balanced working in residential construction remodeling with several legal clinics and internships. He spent two summers at the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office, representing indigent clients criminally charged in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, a semester at a private firm representing indigent clients criminally charged in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and a year at the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. Joshua was recognized with several scholarships and awards for his public interest work while at Pitt Law.

Joshua graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is a Pittsburgh native and grew up in Brighton Heights.
