Justin A. Zimmerman | Associate
Justin A. Zimmerman comes to Pion Law from the Delmarva area. He graduated from Salisbury University with a dual degree in Business Administration and Economics. Mr. Zimmerman graduated from Widener University here in Harrisburg in 2014. Following graduation, he clerked for Judges Quigley, Morrow, and Mummah in the 41st Judicial District of Pennsylvania (Perry and Juniata Counties).
Following his clerkship, Mr. Zimmerman practiced personal injury and workers’ compensation as Plaintiff’s counsel at one of Central Pennsylvania’s largest personal injury firms for over three years. Mr. Zimmerman developed an acumen for determining whether or not health insurers had a right of subrogation against any settlement, a significant component of a claimant’s damages.
Mr. Zimmerman then joined the Governor’s Office of General Counsel at the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. For five years, Mr. Zimmerman’s practice focused general and appellate litigation, the Right-to-Know Law, and creditor’s rights and collections, including defending the Commonwealth in administrative litigation under GRAAP. While with the Commonwealth, Mr. Zimmerman argued before the Commonwealth Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Immediately prior to joining Pion Law, Mr. Zimmerman began practicing civil rights insurance defense and continued to assist governmental entities facing challenging Right-to-Know law requesters. Mr. Zimmerman now brings his litigation and personal injury experience here to Pion Law to assist clients with their defense needs.
